Dave
Full Name: Dave "The Bludgeoner" Sutko
Years Experience: Didn't take my 1st lesson from vertuoso and my
mentor Alen Gerini until age 19 (27 years ago!)
Joined Blind Fury on: Paul and I have been jammin' since '94. Joined Blind Fury in Nov. '98
Type of Intrument Played: Lead and Rhythm Guitars and some keyboards
Past Band History: In 1980, the 1st band, I was called "lust" (yeah!). Then in '81-'82, a band called Crimson
Edge with whom I have very fond memories and accumulated a lot of experience. After that, I've had a lot of good
Jams with a lot of great people. Blind Fury has been my best and favorite band experience by far. With drums that keep perfectly
magical timing, a bass that is solid and always there, and a fellow guitarist I admire and am on the same playing
wave length with. It simply cannot be put into words how much I love being in a band with these great musicians/friends.
They are better then I could have ever hoped for to be in a band with.

Musical Influences:
Dream Theater, Fates Warning, Queensryche, Shadows Fall, All that Remains, Symphony X, and pretty much anything that others would describe as "pretentious", "too fast", "too good" or "too freaking metal!"
Side Projects:
I have written enough songs to personally release five albums. It has taken me nearly seven years to compose these pieces, and I plan to record and release these works over the next couple of years. Music has always been therapeutic to me, and my songs are like an artist's painting or a poet's poem, or even as simple as a child's journal entry. My goal in creating music has always been to understand my own feelings and emotions and to express them in the most vivid way possible. For some, it could be a painting; others, a book or poem; for me, the only choice to express the uncharted depths of my soul, is through a winding, twisting, ever-changing blast of audio with melodies, hooks, words, and an aggressive metal feel.
A final Note:
I have played with Blind Fury for more than four years and have known Eric since 1997. If I had to list the ten closest people to me besides my family, these guys would be in the top five. There is no one else I know or have ever had dealings with that I would trust more than these guys. We've been through a lot as a band, and we've all experienced many personal setbacks along the way that would have destroyed lesser bands. The bonds that we share are undoubtedly unbreakable in mind, and I see nothing in the forseeable future that would change any of that. Look for Blind Fury to progess into 2005, and for the songs to become tighter, more meaningful, but most of all...more METAL!
